Pourable Polyurethane Casting Compounds

Polyurethane rigid casting compounds are extremely easy to handle, because they have simple mix-ratios and good fluidity. They can be poured into practically any type of mold material with the right release agent (excluding Polysulfides). Certain sensitivities effect them negatively--short shelf life in pre-mixed form and a particularly strong aversion to water. They are available with variable set-up times and can be pigmented for custom work. The listings below are in order of increasing Shore D hardness when cured.

Compleat Cast Tan

CompleatCast Tan is the most durable of the resins and has a longer open time. It has a low viscosity (very thin), a 5 minute open time, and a 7-10 minute demold time. This material yields excellent physical properties and can actually be used for architectural purposes with brads!

CompleatCast Jet Black provides users with an extremely tough, high temperature resistant, rigid urethane that is incredibly easy to use.  It has a low viscosity (very thin), a 2 minute open time, and a 4-5 minute demold time.  It is the best black on the market creating a patent black color unlike any other.

KastEZ Resin

KastEZ Resins is used to make casting from rigid and flexible molds. Some of the most common uses of KastEZ Resin are point-of-puchase displays, rapid prototypes, special effects, and sculpture reproductions. However, KastEZ Resin can be used for any application that requires a lightweight, hard plastic. Kast EZ Resin is a two-part polyurethane casting system. KastEZ Resin is mixed one-to-one volume and cures at room temperature. KastEZ Resin begins to get in 1.5 minutes, and cures to a bright white color.

KastEZ Resin requires no mold release when using silicone molds. However polyurethane molds must be prepared by applying the appropriate mold release. Apply the release agent sparingly, while coating all internal surfaces of the mold. Too much release may cover the details of the mold. You should allow the release agent to dry approximately 10 minutes before you pour the casting, If you want to use an in-mold paint you should apply it after the release agent dries.

Smooth Cast 300 - This is the ultra-low viscosity casting resin that yields virtually bubble-free castings in minutes. Fully cured castings from C300 are tough, durable, machinable and paintable.
