Dragon Skin silicones are high performance platinum cure liquid silicone compounds that are used for a variety of applications ranging from creating skin effects and other movie special effects to making production molds for casting a variety of materials. Because of the superior physical properties and flexibility of Dragon Skin rubbers, they are also used for medical prosthetics and
cushioning applications.

Great for Making Molds for a Variety of Applications - Available in Shore 10A, 20A and 30A, Dragon Skin silicones can be used to make exceptionally strong and tear resistant molds for casting plaster, wax, concrete, resins and other materials. Time Tested, Versatile Special Effects Material – Soft, super-strong and stretchy, Dragon Skin 10 (Fast, Medium and Slow speeds) is
used around the world to make spectacular skin and creature effects. An infinite number of color effects can be achieved by adding Silc Pig silicone pigments. Cured rubber can also be painted with the Psycho Paint system.

Easy To Use – Dragon Skin silicones are mixed 1A:1B by weight or volume. Liquid rubber can be thinned with Silicone Thinner or thickened with Thi-Vex II. Rubber cures at room temperature (73°F/23°C) with negligible shrinkage. Vacuum degassing is recommended to minimize air bubbles in cured rubber.

In A Hurry? Dragon Skin 10 FAST (formerly Dragon Skin Q) has a pot life of 8 minutes and a demold time of 75 minutes.

Dragon Skin 10 MED is suitable for many special effects application, especially animatronics where repetitive motion is required.

Dragon Skin 10 MED is high performance platinum cure silicone rubbers that can be mixed 1A:1B by weight or volume and cures at room temperature with no shrinkage to a Shore 10A. Cured Dragon Skin 10 MED is very soft, very strong and very “stretchy”. It will stretch many times its original size without tearing and will rebound to its original form without distortion.

Dragon Skin 10 MED is suitable for many special effects applications, especially animatronics where repetitive motion is required. It is water white translucent and will accept pigments for creating color effects or for creating a paint that can be painted on to an existing Dragon Skin 10 MED (or other) silicone surface. Because of the superior physical properties and softness of Dragon Skin 10 MED , it is also used for orthopedic & cushioning applications. Dragon Skin 10 MED has a pot life of 20 minutes and a demold time of 5 hours.

PlatSil® 71 Series RTV Silicone Rubbers are two-component, addition-cure, platinum-catalyzed, high tear strength, flexible mold compounds. They have tough knotty tear strength which make them especially valuable to the mold making industry. They are recommended for evaluation as mold materials for polyester, epoxy, polyurethane resins, waxes and many other materials. PlatSil® 71 Series Silicones are preferred because on curing, they don't shrink, they don't produce alcohol like tin-catalyzed silicones which can inhibit urethane castings, and they can be heat accelerated to speed the cure.

New PlatSil® Gel-10 allows you to formulate your own soft silicone from the basic Shore A-10 hardness rubber. PlatSil® Gel-10 is colorless, translucent and rapid curing with surprising tear strength. When used with up to 250% Smith’s Theatrical Prosthetic Deadener, PlatSil Gel-10 can be made to simulate human tissue.

Mold Star 15 cures in 4 hours to a soft, strong rubber that is tear resistant and exhibits very low long term shrinkage. Molds made with Mold Star will last a long time in your mold library and are good for casting wax, gypsum, resins, concrete and other materials. Mold Star 15 is heat resistant up to 450°F (232°C) and is suitable for casting low-temperature melt metal alloys.
Note: This product will not work with modeling clays containing sulfur under any circumstances.

Rubber clarity is especially useful when extracting models via cutting. SORTA-Clear rubber is ideal for making prototype, jewelry or other molds of any configuration where model visibility is important (i.e. extracting a model from the mold via cutting).

Resins (urethane, epoxy, etc.), wax and low melt metal alloys can also be cast into SORTA-Clear. SORTA-Clear can also be cast into platinum silicone (release agent required) or rigid molds for casting translucent prototype parts, etc. SORTA-Clear can be pigmented with SILC Pig silicone pigments.

An easy to use versitile rubber that allows you to make rapid-curing molds. The 1:1 mix makes it easy to use without a scale. The quick cure may be slowed by the addition of Platsil Retarder.

PlatSil 73-25 is a 1:1 mix platinum/addition-cure silicone that cures to a soft/mid-range hardness of A~25. This silicone is a blend of all the best properties available for a silicone mold rubber. PlatSil 73-25 is 1A:1B, by volume, so no scale is needed. The yellow colored Part A and green colored Part B make it easy to see when mixing is complete. A uniform, light, lime-green color means you're good to go! A mixed viscosity of 6,000 cP is easy to mix and pour and insures vacuum degassing is unnecessary. A 15 minute pour time coupled with a 4-5 hour demold time is the best of both worlds! PlatSil 73-25 does not shrink on cure and the resulting mold has great tear strength and easy release from all casting media.

Dragon Skin 30 is compatible with other Dragon Skin rubbers and is suitable for special effects, prosthetic and other applications. Color can be added with Silc Pig color pigments. This rubber can be thickened with Thi-Vex thickening agent or thinned down with Silicone Thinner.

Dragon Skin 30 is also suitable for making molds of any configuration for casting plasters, concrete, wax, low-melt temperature melt metal alloys, resins and other platinum silicones (release agent required).

Want a Clear Silicone? This is it! Shim lines and piece detail are easily viewed through this silicone, which makes cutting much easier. Many people are actually using this material as a casting medium for all types of clear flexible pieces. It has great resiliency and longevity. It can also be pigmented for seam identification or casting enhancement.

PlatSil 73-45 are low-viscosity, high strength platinum products. PlatSil 73-45 is often the rubber of choice for casting polyurethane foam parts because of its very high tear strength, mid-range
hardness, flexibility and excellent chemical resistance. Liquid additives are available for thickening to make brushed molds, for thinning to soften the rubber or for accelerating the cure.
