| Comparable in characteristics to onyx and marble, Honeycomb Calcite
can provide a colorful and dramatic accent stone for architectural
and artistic applications. It is an unusual form of calcite as a result
of its strength, stability, luminous quality and colors. The color
ranges from a soft, pale sunshine lemon yellow to a deep rich honey
golden amber depending on the thickness of the stone. When Honeycomb
Calcite is cut, it exhibits its unique honeycomb-like structure. The
honeycomb look results from the growth of long, fibrous or tubular
calcite crystal cells outlined by white colored "membranes"
surrounding each cell. |

| Picasso marble was formed during prehistoric times when lava enveloped
limestone. The colors and wild patterning (much like a Picasso-hence
the name) are from magma being forced through fractures in the limestone,
coloring the stone with gray or tan streaks and black lines. The material
is considered to be a hard stone and therefore not for beginners.
Its natural beauty is unmatched. |

| As with all natural
materials there is some variation amongst pieces. The color swatches above
are examples of stones and do not represent the colors or patterns of every
piece or any piece in it's entirety. Mother Nature controls what is inside
the stone and she hopes you will find beauty in them all. There is no bad
stone only unrealized sculpture. |
